In October 2020, German surfer Sebastian Steudtner made history by surfing on the biggest ever wave (86 ft; 26.21m – equivalent to a Tsunami) with the whole world watching him. Location Nazaré, Portugal. Breathtaking!

    1. Fucking wild! One of my bucket list places is to visit to simply take in one of mother natures most clearly focused “fuck you human! don’t fuck with me here!” Yet, due to science and technology the human race decided to piss in mother natures face and say “Fuck it! We BALL!”

    2. That wave looks unreal, dude’s got nerves of steel. He literally surfing a moving mountain.

    3. An impressive wave, no doubt, and good job on the surfer, but unless that wave washed hundreds of meters inland, erasing a small resort in the process, it was NOT equivalent to a tsunami.

Honestly, what does that even mean? What’s the actual metric here?

Not a surfer here but these waves would weight hundreds of kilos and would crush you if you get caught in it, right? Or would you get out unharmed and just tumbled a bit?
